Serving the Lord with Gladness

God is our King of kings, and the Lord of lords Jesus is Lord over everything! When you read Psalm 100:2 it reads, serve the Lord with gladness. How do you serve the Lord with gladness? First let's look at the words by definition.

Define these:

  • Serve - to act as a servant; to render assistance; be of use; help.

  • gladness - feeling joy or pleasure; pleased; causing joy or pleasure; cheerfulness; very willing.

  • The Lord - a person who has authority; control or power over others; a master, chief, or ruler.

  • Service - an act of helpful activity.

We are God's subjects (people), we belong to Him. Romans 12:1 reads, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service." Our reasonable service is pointing to serve the Lord with gladness.

Let your service to the King (Jesus), be one of honor and respect, that comes from the heart. If it pleases Him, do it from the heart that is full of love and gladness
